ThedaCare Behavioral Health provides mental health and substance use disorder treatment to adults throughout ThedaCare's seven county region. As part of an ongoing effort, ThedaCare seeks an experienced outpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our collaborative team in Waupaca, WI. (New Clinic opening in May). 

Under the general direction of the collaborating physician, the Nurse Practitioner provides general outpatient or consultation services to patients with psychiatric illnesses.

  • Full-time (flexible with schedule)
  • Provides outpatient and/or consultative services to patients with psychiatric illness
  • Provides consultation to primary care, therapists and/or other providers in the community (e.g., teachers, probation officers, etc.)
  • Therapists and SUD counselors onsite with support from a tele-psychiatrist

The Psychiatric group is part of a behavioral health division that includes; six adult psychiatrists, four nurse practitioners, three adult psychiatric hospitalists and 50 Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counselors as well as Psychology, Neuropsychology services, ECT and a Mental Health Day Treatment Program. 

Position Requirements:

  • Graduate from an NLN accredited Masters Program in Nursing with a focus in Psychiatry Mental Health a plus

  • Current RN License to practice in the State of Wisconsin and certification as a APNP/Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber

  • Must be board certified as a Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner. Current certification by the ANCC/as an APRN-PMH /Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Mental Health a plus 

  • NP experience required
