LINE COOK

The Ameswell Hotel is a company that prides itself on our employees, and we are looking for someone who is equally proud of what they do. This is a challenging yet rewarding position with great opportunities for growth.

We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about preparing astounding food for the position of Line Cook This fast-paced position is KEY in delighting our guests with a wonderful culinary experience.

Must be able to work any day of the week starting PM Shifts. These shifts start at 2pm or 3pm.

Key Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Prepare food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service is provided at all times. You will also be responsible for but not limited to:
•Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
•Serve meals or prepare for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared food items.
•Use established ticket collection procedures during service. Responsible for records from area worked during service periods.
•Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
•Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat. Ensures food and supply items are stored per standards.
•Operate and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
•Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
•Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
•Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, guests, and managers.
•Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
•Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Completion of vocational school, high school or a two-year associate degree
•Excellent kitchen knowledge and ability to work as part of a team
•Strong organization and active listening skills
•The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 30 pounds at a time
•One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook.
•Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred.
•Experience with various cooking methods and procedures.
•Basic written and verbal communication skills
•Organizational skills
•Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
•Ability to work as a team member.
•Follow directions and instructions.
