Job Description
About the role:
This role will be part of our MAGMA team and will be responsible for the safe operation of the submerged combustion melter. Also, will be involved in organizing and executing startup, operation and shutdown related activities.
Will work in shifts, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the submerged combustion melting machine, the finer, the forehearth and the support systems, including, among others, exhaust, cooling and batch systems.
Key Responsabilities:
Will monitor the fusion process and make appropriate changes based on the situation.
Respond to alarms and identify malfunctions, correct operation and/or refer to supervision.
Correct minor problems with industrial equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance.
Perform quality checks and enter data into the correct quality spreadsheet.
Work with the team of operators to complete non-routine tasks related to start-ups and shut-downs.
Produce accurate and concise system status reports as requested.
Think analytically and propose process improvements.
Perform daily line cleaning to maintain a clean working environment.
Monitor the feeding process and respond to alarms as required.
Travel Requirements:
Travel up to 20% may be required to other O-I/MAGMA facilities.

Familiarity with high-temperature industrial processes and controls
Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Electromechanical experience will be a plus
You are a good communicator and understand that teamwork is key to a team's success

Salary Range:
The expected salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $81,200 USD. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Qualifications
* High school diploma
* Must hold a valid driver’s license
* Role requires a Groton site presence. The job requires the operation of manufacturing equipment in the Groton manufacturing area. Standing, bending, climbing, reaching and lifting upward of 55 pounds may be required. Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves, a full Tyvek suit and breathable air and/or filtering face piece is often required.
* Must be able to wear appropriate PPE (i.e. daily uniform, safety glasses, respirators and full protective suits) when necessary
* Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
* Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
* Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 55lbs)
* Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
* Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Additional Information
**Position is full-time, Monday - Friday 7:00-3:30pm OR 2nd shift Mon-Thu 12:00-10:00pm. Weekend manufacturing support may be required if necessary. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Groton, CT are encouraged to apply.**
