This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Security Engineer - Cloud Platforms in the United States. This role offers the opportunity to shape and secure multi‑cloud environments in a fast‑paced, innovative technology organization. You will design, implement, and maintain robust security controls across cloud platforms, including AWS and GCP, while leveraging automation and AI‑driven tools to proactively detect and remediate risks. Collaborating closely with engineering teams, you will be responsible for vulnerability management, incident response, and operational reporting. This position balances hands‑on technical work with strategic influence, ensuring systems are secure, compliant, and resilient. Accountabilities Engineer and enforce security controls for AWS and GCP cloud environments, including IAM, logging, network segmentation, and firewall configurations. Identify misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and security gaps, and implement scalable remediation solutions. Manage vulnerability assessments and provide clear reporting on risks and mitigation strategies. Respond to security alerts, refine detection logic, and serve as an escalation point for incidents. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure security controls align with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001. Provide operational reporting on security metrics, incident response times, and remediation progress. Partner across teams to embed security best practices into development and operational processes. Requirements 5+ years of experience in security engineering, information security operations, or related IT security roles. Strong experience with AWS, GCP, or both, including native security services and best practices. Proficiency in Linux administration and scripting (Python preferred). Solid understanding of networking fundamentals. Experience maintaining audit readiness and compliance documentation (SOC 2, ISO 27001). Preferred: experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Kubernetes/container security, threat hunting, or offensive security. Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex security concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
