About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Site Manager (House Manager) to oversee the daily operations of an immersive experience in the vibrant DTLA Arts District. This is a temporary position (6-8 months), with the possibility to continue in other capacities or to travel with the installation. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with a passion for live events, immersive environments, and guest experience, who can manage all aspects of the site with confidence and professionalism.


Key Responsibilities:

• Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee the smooth running of all aspects of the immersive experience, ensuring that all logistical, operational, and technical aspects are functioning optimally. (Technical requirements are minimal.)

• Hiring & Staffing: Recruit, hire, and onboard a qualified team of approximately 10 staff members to work alongside you.

• Staff Management: Lead, train, and schedule staff members to ensure excellent guest experience and efficient operations during both timed entry hours and special events. Handle staff concerns and ensure team cohesion.

• Guest Experience: Maintain a high standard of customer service, ensuring that all visitors have a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience.

• Safety & Compliance: Ensure the site adheres to health and safety regulations, emergency procedures, and venue-specific guidelines.

• Inventory & Supplies: Manage inventory of limited merchandise and operating supplies. Oversee purchasing and budget management for the site.

• Problem Solving: Quickly and effectively address any operational, staffing, or guest-related issues that may arise during the experience.

• Liaison: Act as the main point of contact between the site, our internal production team, vendors, and external partners to ensure clear communication and coordination.

• Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on the performance, issues, and operational status of the site. Take an interest in sales metrics and event promotion, although not your direct responsibility.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in site management, event operations, or a similar role, preferably in immersive experiences, live events, or hospitality.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience hiring and managing staff.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment when things get busy or as challenges arise.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Kind and direct.
  • Familiarity and vigilance with health and safety regulations.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
