Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Director, Engineering will be based in Farmington Hills, MI.

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Design, Process and Technology Engineering.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

* Direct and control the activities of broad functional area through several senior Design & Engineering managers involved in activities such as designing, developing, modifying and evaluating integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and systems
* Partner with other leaders to establish objectives and action plans
* Ensure the development of Design & Engineering solutions for diversified industry segment covering a wide range of products and volume mixes
* Ensure budget, schedules and performance indicators meet corporate guidelines
* Provide technical and strategic guidance to subordinate directors to ensure achievement of goals and objectives
* Develop and continuously improve people, methods, systems, processes and metrics in a complex and rapidly changing environment to improve customer satisfaction
* Organize and lead reviews to ensure projects are delivered on time, as per cost targets and within quality specifications
* Partner with Operations leaders to ensure Engineering & Design activities are well integrated with manufacturing operations including the use of Design for Manufacturability principles.
* Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

* Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training plus a minimum of 8 years of management experience. A Master's or MBA degree is preferred
* Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesses.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
* Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
* Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
* Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, make educated decisions and drive action plans for progress
