This position will report to the Engineering Supervisor but requires coordination with the Quality and Production Departments to accomplish tasks and projects. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work as a Team to problem solve. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is willing to initiate change and improvement to our production and inspection processes. Duties And Responsibilities Design and document manufacturing processes, including layouts, tooling and fixturing Develop and manage CMM programs to ensure precise inspection, quality verification and dimensional accuracy of manufactured parts Develop, evaluate, and improve production methods using expertise in product design, materials, fabrication, equipment capabilities, assembly techniques, and quality standards Partner with customers’ design teams to address product and tooling concerns, ensuring efficient and effective production methods Collaborate with the quality department to establish standards, drive continuous improvement, and resolve manufacturing issues Work with the Quality Supervisor to establish supplier approval standards and evaluate new vendors Engage vendors to define specifications, secure purchases, and evaluate products against quality performance criteria Estimate production timelines, staffing needs and costs to support informed Management decisions Calculate cost estimates for raw materials, equipment, subcontracted services and labor Prepare comprehensive estimates to guide planning, organization, and scheduling while ensuring all customer requirements (quality, tolerances, CAD, processing, etc.) are identified and met Drive cost reduction initiatives and create clear product procedures and supporting documentation Consult with Management, Engineering and Operations Teams on capacity, scheduling, and process optimization; apply statistical methods to forecast future needs Maintain full compliance with OSHA and EPA workplace standards Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor Requirements Education & Experience Preferred candidate should have at least a BSME, BSMET, BSMS, BSIE or equivalent degree Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment Prefer at least 5 years of related work experience Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Required Skills Must have advanced computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access) and CAD Applied knowledge of GD&T Must have experience with AS9100 or similar Quality Management System Must have strong mathematical, statistical and analytical skills Must be able to analyze and present data Must be detail-oriented Excellent verbal and written communication skills Other Skills And Abilities Prefer knowledge of CMM equipment and/or software Prefer knowledge of SolidWorks software Willing and able to travel (up to 10%) Ability to manage multiple demands in a professional manner Ability to work in a Team environment with multiple departments Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, pull, push or apply force up to 35 lbs. Occasional bending, stooping, pulling and twisting may be required Extended periods of sitting, standing or walking frequently required Must have constant free mobility of hands, wrists, and arms; some physical or mechanical dexterity required Must be able to pass company paid vision and hearing tests Work Schedule and Environment Work schedule is 4-10s, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is an in-office/shop position; remote/hybrid work is not available. Work is performed in a traditional office environment in a manufacturing facility/building and on the production floor around large CNC machines.
