We are seeking an experienced Event Sales Manager with a proven background in social sales to join our team. This key role will focus on generating new business and maintaining existing relationships within the wedding and corporate markets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for luxury hospitality, exceptional sales skills and the ability to create memorable events that reflect the high standards of our brand.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Generation

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within the social, wedding and corporate segments
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue goals
  • Conduct site visits, sales presentations and client meetings to showcase Austin Proper's unique offerings and services
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, event planners and industry partners

Event Planning and Coordination

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and requirements, ensuring a personalized and seamless event experience
  • Work closely with the hotel's operations team to coordinate all aspects of events, including catering, setup and logistics
  • Provide on-site support during events to ensure client satisfaction and address any issues that may arise

Market Analysis and Strategy

  • Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities and market conditions to identify opportunities for growth
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the hotel's facilities, services and capabilities
  • Create and execute promotional activities, sales campaigns and marketing initiatives to attract and retain clients

Administrative Duties

  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts and budgets to the Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, client interactions and event details in the hotel's CRM system
  • Participate in regular sales meetings and training sessions to stay informed and enhance skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in catering sales, with a strong background in social and wedding sales
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a luxury hotel or similar environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software; experience with Delphi or similar systems is a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by client needs and event schedules
