Description

The Senior Estimator is responsible for the following:

  • Review bid documents from clients - work scopes, sketches, overlays, or full project plans - to fully understand required scope of work
  • Prior to developing an estimate/bid proposal, coordinate with the Construction Project Manager assigned to the project to review bid documents and agree on a plan of action.
  • Perform complete and accurate quantity take-offs from project plans.
  • Prepare bid packages/detailed work scopes by trade for distribution to subcontractors to clearly define work scope for the major trades involved.
  • Request material quotes from vendors supplying materials/services.
  • Maintain accurate files for vendor quotes and subcontractor bids.
  • Obtain multiple quotes for trade & material services, review all quotes in detail to confirm required scope is included.
  • Attend/lead bid walks with clients and subcontractors

Profile

The Candidate will possess the following skills

  • At least 10 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Monitor and control projects through administrative direction
  • Established relations with subcontractors
  • Experience in projects up to $25M preferred
  • Experience in both renovation and ground up building
  • Variety of project experience preferred
  • BA in construction related field
  • Strong communication skills and organizational skills
