Description
Position Summary: The Clinic RN is proficient in all tasks performed by clinical coworker staff. Works cooperatively with Clinic Team Supervisors to coordinate and facilitate completion of work required to provide high levels of patient care and service. li>Coordinates with the Clinic Team Supervisors and Clinic Manager to identify and address opportunities to provide better patient care and service.Assists with gathering and delivering information to team members in accordance with the patient centered medical home huddles. Triage patients in person and via telephone.Prepare medical treatment room and set up patient care equipment.Keeps supplies ready by ensuring exam rooms are stocked with proper supplies.Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; li>Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.Prepare patients for tests or treatmentsUse sanitation practices in health care settingsSupports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens, performing basic laboratory tests on the premises, disposing of contaminated supplies appropriately, sterilizing medical instruments, administering medications on the premises, drawing blood, preparing patients for x-rays, taking electrocardiograms, removing sutures, changing dressings, scheduling referrals/outside diagnostics/testing appointments, administering immunizations/vaccines, maintaining vaccine records, and scheduling follow-up appointments. Record medical history or data, confirm purpose of visit or treatment, and verify patient informationWeigh patients and take vital signsEducate patients by providing necessary information and instructionsMaintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelinesAdhere to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.Manages the care of patients in collaboration with other health professionals and members of the health care team in order to make decisions about treatment and to attain health goals.Assumes self responsibility for all direct patient care activities within scope of practiceMakes operational decisions as appropriate in the absence of the Clinic Manager or Clinic Team Supervisor.
Requirements
• Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Nebraska
• Certified - Basic Life Support
• 1 year clinic experience preferred
• Computer skills required
• Electronic medical record experience preferred
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Highly organized and ability to meet deadlines
• Attentive to detail, quality and accuracy
• Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to interrelate with wide variety of people
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
