Experience in security controls, network security protocols, cyber security, and data security. The Network Engineering team is responsible for operating that network reliably and at scale. As a member of the team, you have a direct impact on design and feature enhancements to keep our systems running smoothly. You also ensure that network operations are safe and efficient by monitoring network performance, coordinating planned maintenance, adjusting hardware components and responding to network connectivity issues. Google's complex network generates a constant stream of challenges which require you to continually be innovative with an evolving set of technologies. Keeping the network reliable ensures that our users stay connected with our suite of applications, products and services. The MSCA organization at Google designs, implements, and manages the hardware, software, machine learning, and systems infrastructure for all Google services and Google Cloud. We prioritize security, efficiency, and reliability across everything we do. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000–$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Responsibilities Drive the analysis of measurements or data and capacity forecast models for making networks more scalable and efficient and deliver predictable user experience. Evaluate current inefficiencies, complexities, and flaws in network systems, and propose designs, software, and processes to improve them. Provide strategic leadership and technical direction in improving security, and drive cross-functional teams to achieve organizational impact. Develop security framework, policies, standards, and baselines for various infrastructures and network designs with the goal of uplifting security and reducing risks.
