Position Summary: As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in our operations, ensuring that materials are efficiently managed, from receiving and storing to distributing within our facilities. We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move materials throughout the facility.
- Receive incoming materials, verify accuracy against purchase orders, and store items in appropriate locations.
- Prepare materials for shipping, including picking, packing, labeling, and completing necessary paperwork.
- Conduct regular inventories and maintain accurate records of materials on hand.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
- Collaborate with team members and departments to improve materials management processes and support overall operational efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on material handling equipment and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse role preferred.
- Certified or able to be certified in the operation of material handling equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills for inventory and record-keeping purposes.
