  • Experience with VMware vCenter Server
  • Experience with VMware Horizon View
  • Familiarity with VDI technologies and protocols
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues within multiple systems
  • Ability to visualize overall view of systems and conceptualize and document creative solutions
  • Strong customer focus, including the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Virtualization Engineer to join one of our clients in Norfolk, VA. The Virtualization Engineer will support research, development and administration of virtualization technologies. Virtualization technology will be used to operate advanced simulation systems and enterprise information technology systems with reduced operator and hardware cost, improved flexibility in resource allocation, reduced system reconfiguration time, and improved security. The Virtualization Engineer will work in cooperation with Engineering and Operations divisions to assess the current architecture and evolve future enterprise computing requirements towards virtualization where it makes sense. While keeping abreast of current virtualization disciplines, this position will work with technology solutions providers, evaluate effective solutions and make operational recommendations to management. Additional duties include authoring standard operating procedures, training of operations personnel and tier 3 technical support. Individual must work well independently as well as have strong team oriented skills.


Compensation

$48/hr to $52/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
