Come join us at ChristianaCareWe are searching for a Medical Laboratory Scientist to work full time flex, 8-hour shifts, Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. In addition, the MLS will rotate between the Newark and Wilmington laboratories, with most time spent in the Newark lab.As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will perform/support Point of Care Testing (POCT) test procedures on the laboratory approved POCT test menu and associated activities to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. In addition, you will support acute hospital and ambulatory POCT activities of non-laboratorians across the system, as needed.Responsibilities:Accurately performs all test procedures as listed in the procedure manual.Performs and records all scheduled instrument preventative maintenance procedures.Follows established quality control procedures, documenting corrective action if necessary.Adheres to all turnaround times, documents calls as necessary, verifies critical values and specimen identification.Verifies completion of all stat results and all routine results in a timely manner.Records workload and other statistics into computer system as necessary.Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's of Science in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory ScienceBS in a chemical, physical, biological scienceASCP Certification preferredKnowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and proceduresKnowledge of infection control techniques and proceduresAbility to coordinate simultaneous tests and procedures with accuracyAbility to use automated laboratory equipmentOral and written communication skillsChristianaCare Offers:Incredible Work/Life benefits including medical/dental/ vision insurance coverage on your first day of employment, paid PTO, retirement plans, twelve weeks of paid parental leave, annual membership to care.com, access to backup care services for dependents through Care@Work, retirement planning services, financial coaching, fitness and wellness reimbursement, and great discounts through several vendors for hotels, rental cars, theme parks, shows, sporting events, movie tickets and much moreIf you 're inspired to make a difference, we invite you to become a ChristianaCare caregiverHourly Pay Range: $29.22 - $43.83This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
