Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medical Acute Care Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week Experience: Minimum of 2 Years in Med Surg License: Current State License as a Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS - American Heart Association Must-Have: - Candidates must not require any time off during the assignment. - Active IL RN license is essential. - Understanding that the workplace is a drug-free campus and ability to produce a negative drug screen for all panels. Job Description: - Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served.- Understand the principles of growth and development, as well as the physical, emotional, and psycho-social needs of the patient population.- Professional level of knowledge of nursing practice and theory typically acquired through completion and graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.- Six to ten weeks of unit-specific orientation and on-the-job training are required to learn department/unit policies and procedures, develop proficiency in the use of medical equipment, understand nursing care and quality assurance standards, and the types of patients cared for on the unit.- Employ interpersonal skills necessary to comfort patients and family members, communicate effectively with other patient care providers, and instruct patients and family members in self-care and home care procedures.- Possess analytical abilities necessary to assess patients' physical, psychological, and social needs, develop individualized patient care plans, and evaluate patient responses to medical and nursing interventions. Additional Information: - The penalty-free call-off policy allows for 12 hours every 13 weeks. - Local candidates are welcome to apply (within a 50-mile radius). - Non-billable orientation hours comprise 12 hours; guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation.
