We have a job for you in our wonderfully appointed assisted living and memory care facility. The Cook position prepares all food items for the community restaurant experience for our residents and guests. Weekend Availability Required $16- $18/ hour based on experience Part Time and Full Time hours Essential Job Responsibilities: Prepares meals from standardized recipes in accordance with order in a timely and attractive manner, following and maintaining community standards. Sets up food service lines and work stations with needed condiments, garnishes, etc. Ensures all condiments, garnishes, etc are prepared and served as directed by the Executive Chef and community standards. Assists with the coordination of prep work for the following days menu. Assists in the training and development of new kitchen staff. Assists Executive Chef/Sous Chef with food orders from vendors. Assists in the creation of the menu cycle. Assists in the creation and execution of special events and functions in the community. Fills in for Sous Chef when absent. Keeps stockroom, coolers and freezers clean and ensures that all food supply stocks are rotated, perishables are labeled, dated and stored properly. Maintains kitchen cleanliness and food preparation standards in accordance with state and local health department code requirements Keeps food waste to a minimum by utilizing food storage and food recycling techniques. Attends all in service training and staff meetings Regular and predictable attendance daily. Qualification Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) One to two years of related work experience Additional Job Information: Ability to safely handle food in accordance with facility policies and procedures, as well as all state and federal regulations.
