SummarySenior individual contributor who defines and drives user experience strategy across complex products and platforms. Partners closely with product and engineering leadership to envision, design, and deliver elegant, human-centered solutions that scale to enterprise needs. As a design thought leader, the Principal UX Designer sets standards for usability and accessibility while mentoring and influencing designers across teams.Role ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end design of user experiences for complex workflows, from research and conceptualization through detailed interaction designDrive UX strategy, ensuring alignment of design vision with business objectives and technical constraintsCollaborate with product managers, engineers, and researchers to translate insights into actionable product designDefine and maintain design standards, patterns, and systems to ensure consistency across platformsConduct and apply user research, usability testing, and analytics to inform and validate design decisionsMentor and influence design teams, elevating the overall quality of UX practices across the organizationRequirements10+ years of progressive UX design experience, including at least 5 years at a senior or lead/principal levelStrong portfolio demonstrating design leadership in enterprise-scale or consumer-facing productsProven ability to shape product direction and influence senior stakeholders through design visionExperience collaborating with cross-functional teams in fast-paced, innovative environmentsDeep expertise in interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and accessibility principles.Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision).Strong storytelling and communication skills to articulate design rationale and influence stakeholders.Knowledge of user research methodologies and ability to synthesize insights into design strategy.Estimated Hiring RangeAt Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances.
