POSITION SUMMARY

SVP Clinical Services will integrate and coordinate a patient-centric nursing strategy with a focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Atlas and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. Under the direction of the COO, the CNO is responsible for the clinical and managerial operations of patient care services, including Clinical Services and Medical Staff Services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Sets the strategic direction of Clinical Services and ensures effective and efficient operations.
  • Develops and implements programs to measure, assess and improve the quality of nursing care provided by the organization.
  • Evaluates clinical services processes across the organization for quality, cost effectiveness, efficiency and regulatory compliance, and recommends measures to streamline operations and reduce duplication.
  • Develops and manages the operating budgets for clinical services operations, analyzes variances, develops plans and takes appropriate actions for productivity and performance improvements.
  • Oversees clinical care provided by Atlas in all surgery center locations which includes establishing clinical standards, protocols, policies, and monitoring of overall performance.
  • Provides leadership and oversight of the clinical education team to develop, maintain, and optimize orientation and ongoing clinical education programs that meet or exceed regulatory guidelines and expectations as well as the needs of a diverse patient population.
  • Works effectively as a team member in a dynamic executive environment and promotes teamwork within and across the organization by maintaining positive relationships and utilizing effective problem solving skills.
  • Maintains knowledge and achieves compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements, licensure, accreditation requirements, record procedures and internal controls; regularly informs and updates staff on organizational and industry issues.
  • Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.
  • Provides all customers with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes direct supervisory responsibility for assigned department staff within Clinical Services and Medical Staff Services.


DIRECTLY REPORTING

Reports to Chief Operating Officer.


TYPE OF SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has full managerial scope and authority for employment actions, including coaching, candidate selection, training and development, performance appraisals, work assignments, and disciplinary action.

SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY

This position provides leadership at the executive level for the organization's nursing services and assists with the development of the organization's strategic plan as it relates to clinical services. This position creates an environment and culture that enables the organization to fulfill its mission by ensuring patient safety and patient-centered treatment. The incumbent is to be skilled at establishing excellent working relationships and strategic partnering with various teams and executives across the organization to achieve a shared mission.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Finance or Hospital Administration required.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Minimum of 10 years related work experience required to include supervisory/management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, facilitating, and leading clinical programs and initiatives which align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of effective best practice in nursing operations, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Doctoral Degree preferred (DNP or PhD).
