Overview The Patient Services Specialist I performs routine front-end clinical operations activities, which include, but are not limited to: registration, cashiering, gathering and providing appropriate information, collecting co-pays, and answering the phones. The Patient Services Specialist I interacts with patients, families, clinicians, administrative staff, and third-party payers in a courteous and professional manner. Responsibilities Responsible for complete and accurate patient registration/check-in. Collect co-pays, provide receipts, and provide timely accounting for all collected cash and payments. Identify discrepancies and immediately work with the supervisor to resolve issues. Obtain necessary and required information for both registration and financial documentation needed to complete the check in process. Provide information to callers, as well as direct callers to the correct destination. Respond to patients, families, and clinic issues in a timely and professional manner, provide routine financial benefits, and seek assistance from the supervisor when obtaining answers to resolve patient issues. Maintain a general and updated understanding of insurance requirements as they relate to the Care Center. Retrieve and assess system information related to insurance authorization for patient services from the Patient Access Department. Monitor Epic work que for tracking internal/external consults. Qualifications EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required. EXPERIENCE: 0 - 2 years of experience in patient registration required. Minimum pay rangeUSD $37,132.78/Yr.
