Position Summary

We are looking for a Field Applications Engineer with experience and/or aptitude in the power electronics industry. Focusing on selling into Server, Storage, Networking (SSN), E-Mobility, Transportation, Energy Storage, Industrial, Robotics and Medical markets. The ideal candidate will work in conjunction with the business development team to provide technical applications support for potential customers/clients & distributors. The candidate is expected to drive solutions through leveraging the resources of the business development team and MPS engineering teams in a coordinated effort to produce the best solution for the customer.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide technical applications support for the Power Business Unit
  • Highly technical customer support
    • Create applications collateral to support customer engagements.
      • Application notes
      • White papers
    • Attain an in-depth technical understanding of the power product range including base technology working with the product teams and MPS engineering.
    • Help choose correct MPS/Calex products and help design products into customer systems.
    • Work closely with customers to solve technical issues and accelerate design wins.
    • Work closely with the Business Unit to define future product concepts based on customer feedback.
  • Work closely with the product department to understand roadmaps, products, and technologies.
  • Work in collaboration with the Business Development team:
    • Suggest appropriate power products for customer applications.
    • Understand customer's technical requirements and the customers future product technology roadmap.
    • Create applications collateral to support the promotion of power products.
  • Work closely with customers engineers to design products into customer systems.
  • Resolve any technical issues associated with the products as the arise.
  • Work with the MARCOM Team for literature and collateral
  • Define new product concepts based on customer feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with product marketing and engineering to define future product roadmaps.
Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
  • Strong technical background in power supplies
  • Comprehensive bench-skills and use of test and debug equipment
  • Responsive, self-driven and directed, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Persistent, energetic
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills to interact with customers and internal teams
  • Ability to solve complex customer problems within customer timelines
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • 30-40% travel availability
  • Proficient using MS Office Tools including Outlook, Excel, and Power Point

Compensation Data

Salary range of $86,000/year to $100,000/year.
