Summary
As an Engineering Specialist, you will be a crucial part of the maintenance team, providing technical expertise, supporting maintenance activities, and driving the development of preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal manufacturing performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and training to the maintenance team.

  • Lead long-term maintenance planning to enhance system reliability.

  • Specify, design, and manage the procurement of both specialized and standard spare parts.

  • Coordinate emergency and non-emergency maintenance tasks in collaboration with the manufacturing team.

  • Oversee the design, operation, and functionality of the work order system, leveraging data for operational improvements.

  • Review and analyze department budgets and spending history.

  • Assess Client needs for the maintenance department.

  • Collaborate with subcontractors to meet maintenance goals and objectives.

  • Maintain and enhance planned, predictive, and preventative maintenance systems.

  • Track and report on departmental improvement targets.

  • Plan for future department growth in terms of Client, equipment, facilities, and tools.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering from a four-year college or university; OR four (4) to six (6) years of relevant experience along with a high school diploma or G.E.D.; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required for Electrical Specialist:

  • Proficiency in Distributed Control Systems (DCS), including PLC programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical power systems and circuitry.

  • Experience with CNC control systems.

Required for Mechanical Specialist:

  • Expertise in the design and maintenance of mechanical components and systems.

  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic system design and maintenance.

Preferred Experience for Both Specialties:

  • Prior experience with High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) and CNC machine maintenance.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry-related publications, technical documentation, and governmental regulations.

  • Competence in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

  • Effective presentation and communication skills for interacting with managers, clients, and general audiences.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to calculate figures related to discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volume.

  • Understanding and application of basic algebra and geometry concepts.

Reasoning Ability

  • Strong problem-solving skills to define issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Capability to interpret technical instructions and manage both abstract and tangible variables.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to communicate clearly and listen attentively.

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with arms.

  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Must have the visual capacity for close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustments.

Work Environment

  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.

  • Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, high places, airborne particles, chemicals, extreme heat, and electrical shock risks.

  • Noise levels in the environment can be loud.
