The Hoag Specialty is seeking a full-time BC/BE Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist to lead its growing and energetic Psychiatric Inpatient Consultation-Liaison Service at our beautiful Newport Beach Campus.  This is a role that can evolve into leadership, which includes clinical time on the CL service and protected administrative time to dedicate to directing and growing the service.  

 

Consult-Liaison Service Responsibilities

  • The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric consultations to Hoag patients in admitted to the medical/surgical floors, intensive care units, acute rehabilitation unit, and emergency departments at Hoag Hospitals Newport Beach campus. 
  • Provide expert consultation to physicians of other medical disciplines (i.e. Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology) on the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric and behavioral symptoms in patients
  • 5 days/week coverage with no weekend coverage required. 8am-5pm
  • NP coverage for Call and Weekend Coverage
  • Growing program with support from Hoag Neuroscience Institute
Requirements
  •  Board Certification in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, or Board Certification in Psychiatry with experience in consultation-liaison psychiatry
  • MD or DO degree, and completion of ACGME accredited residency in psychiatry
  • Active, unrestricted California medical license, or eligible for California State Medical 
  • Active DEA license
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • A passion for providing clinically excellent care
