AT A GLANCE:

  • Practice 100% interventional radiology with a dynamic team of professionals including physicians, nurses, technologists and advance practice providers
  • Overall Radiology team of 90+ covering all specialties
  • Participate in the teaching/training of integrated and independent interventional radiology and diagnostic radiology residents, and teaching of Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine's medical students
  • Practice a full range of interventional procedures with wide mix of pathology
  • Danville facility include 3 angiography suites, 1 hybrid CT-fluoroscopy suite, 1 minor procedure room including ultrasound, additional dedicated CT for IR procedures
  • Wilkes-Barre facility includes 2 angiography suites, 2 minor procedure rooms including ultrasound
  • Department houses one of the largest 3D printing/3D imaging labs in the country with opportunities for translational research

Geisinger Medical Center (GMC), the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Childrens Hospital. GMC, a Magnet Hospital, maintains the regions only Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center with additional qualifications in pediatrics. GMC offers an array of highly specialized medical and surgical services, including neurosciences, cardiovascular services, transplantation, womens health (in the Womens Pavilion), oncology and orthopaedics.

Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (GWV) has been a part of the Geisinger family since opening as the NPW Medical Center in 1981.
