SENIOR JAVA DEVELOPERJob PurposeNearly half the world's crude oil futures trade and clear on Company's state of the art electronic trading and clearing platforms.As a Senior Developer you will play a key role in developing systems which provide clearing services to vital commodity markets such as oil, natural gas, sugar, and cotton which are essential to economies around the world.If you are self-starting, talented in designing and implementing reusable software components and have a desire to understand and support the business of derivatives clearing, we would love to hear from you.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and unit test key components in clearing systemsTake initiative and own key clearing componentsUnderstand the derivatives clearing and settlement businessWork closely with the business units and stakeholders on gathering and understanding system requirementsWork closely with project management, product management, and QA teams. This requires strong collaboration, communication, and technical leadership skillsPlan and estimate key components, system, and application developmentAssist in writing functional specificationsBuild reusable utilities and frameworks within our applicationsWork on the scalability and performance of our high-performance componentsUnderstand the complex business logic in the existing systems and be able to enhance and transition to new technologies and systemsWork in an agile, continuous integration environment with command of SDLC tools like Git, Maven and GradleTroubleshoot and support critical production applicationKnowledge and Experience5+ years of development experience with the JVMStrong working knowledge of:JavaOOD, Design Patterns, Functional ProgrammingDistributed messaging, JMSSpring frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Data, Spring MVCPL/SQL, Hibernate, JPAMulti-threaded server-side developmentExperience in Java performance tuning, debugging, and memory profilingAbility to work independently, productively under pressure, and effectively multi-taskStrong interpersonal and writing skills, and ability to work well in a team environmentBuilding business applications from design to live production systemsExcellent command of written and spoken EnglishPreferred, but not required:Working knowledge of BPMN, rules engine experience (Drools preferred)Experience building HTML 5 front end using ExtJS or other JavaScript libraries or frameworksFamiliar with Test Driven DevelopmentExposure in the financial services technologies - particularly in futures and optionsDemonstrated open-source contributionStudy new technology and stay technically currentCS bachelor's degree, equivalent or higherAdditional InformationJob Type: StandardSchedule: Full-time #J-18808-Ljbffr
