Addiction Medicine Specialist

Overmountain Recovery, an opioid treatment program located in Gray, Tennessee is seeking a physician to provide services for opioid addiction treatment. The physician will treat patients in a collaborative team environment which includes nurse practitioners, nurses, behavioral health therapists, case managers, peer recovery support specialists, community navigators and the Medical Director.
Qualified candidates must be board certified as an addiction medicine provider, and can be trained in Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Anesthesia or Emergency Medicine. This physician will lead a team of mental health professionals to include psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, behavioral health therapists, case managers, community navigators, child life specialists, residential supervisors and residential coordinators who will assist the individual with finding the most beneficial level of treatment. The physician will also lead the development and review of mental health and addiction treatment plans.
Qualifications: Three years of documented experience in the provision of services to persons who are addicted to alcohol or other drugs and at least one of the following:
- One year of experience in the treatment of substance use disorder (preferred) - Or
- Two years of documented experience preferred in the treatment of persons who are addicted to alcohol or other drugs - Or
- Board certification as an addiction psychiatry specialist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) - Or
- Board certification as an addiction medicine specialist by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM)

Overmountain Recovery (OMR) is an outpatient opioid treatment and drug rehabilitation program serving Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. OMR provides the following:
