Quality Engineer
(This is an onsite full-time direct-hire position in the Princeton, North Carolina 27569 area)

The Quality Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting customer, plant, and supplier quality related duties. This is a multi-faceted hands-on position that requires the QE to be at the facility and be involved with the day-to-day details of customer, plant and supplier quality, while also developing and improving the Quality Management System.
Duties and Responsibilities: Work with customers, plant, suppliers, repair station, and others to meet or exceed business needs. Develop customer, plant, and supplier relationships while ensuring timely resolution of quality issues. Develop or improve quality processes related to AS9100 requirements. Work closely with customers, suppliers, and plant stakeholders to solve complex quality issues. Support day-to-day MRB process flow related to RTV, RWK, SCRAP, etc. Lead problem definition and part containment efforts for quality issues. Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving guidance to inspectors and others for quality issues. Create and update inspection plans as needed. Use measuring devices to verify dimensional characteristics (Calipers, height gauges, or others). Review and approve FAIs according to AS9102 requirements. Review gage needs for new and existing part numbers and programs. Review and approve new suppliers for the Approved Supplier List. Track supplier performance and develop action plans for suppliers when needed. Perform regular onsite or desktop audits of suppliers. Complete monthly Supplier Risk Matrix (On Quality & Supplier OTD) and lead monthly meeting. Complete data analysis using Pareto and trend charts to solve systemic quality problems through recognized problem-solving techniques (5 Whys, Cause and Effect, A3, DOE, etc.). Complete customer surveys as needed and visit customers regarding quality issues as needed. Support QA inventory counts each month, or as needed. Complete internal AS9100 audits as required. Must work in a safe manner, follow all safety rules, and wear PPE as required. All other duties assigned to support the business.

Experience with Oracle Quality Modules or similar ERP System. Problem Analysis/Resolution, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective and Preventive Actions.

















Qualifications/Education: To perform this job successfully, the person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Prefer 5+ years in Quality Engineering. Prefer 5+ years in data analysis, problem solving, and quality system development and improvement. 5+ years in multitasking and working well in a team environment as a leading team member and contributor. Computer Skills; Microsoft Office products, Oracle, and various portals. BA/BS degree from four-year college or university is required, or equivalent combination of education and technical experience. Travel as needed; approximately 25%.

The environment characteristic of this position is a manufacturing setting where noise, heat, cold, moisture, fumes, and chemicals are present. Candidate should be able to adapt to a traditional manufacturing environment. Some process applications could be performed in the exterior elements for short or extended periods. Should be able to travel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility. The environment characteristic for this position is an office setting. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment.
