Job Summary:

Join our highly visible team and perform technically challenging assignments, which will directly contribute to protecting our nation and our Warfighters. Currently, we are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer-P3 supporting the operations and maintenance of custom solutions and Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities at Aurora CO. The ideal candidate will have a cyber experience across the full spectrum of cyber operations from a mission execution perspective, to include vulnerability management, compliance management, testing, and enterprise information security infrastructure.

Responsibilities To Anticipate:

  • Verify infrastructure configurations and provide engineering direction for cyber security required settings and functionality. Areas include: Antivirus, logging, STIGs, Firewall rules, Network ACLs, RBAC config (LDAP)

  • Operate Tenable Nessus security scanner and evaluate scan results. Comfortable in differentiating false positives from actual issues.

  • Review log data for compliance w/ RMF audit controls (AU controls)

  • Assist in document creation/modification to support of ATO package generation

  • Perform cyber regression testing in a CI/CD environment.

  • Review and adjudication of static code analysis findings in software

  • Ensuring the security integrity of systems by maintaining mission systems basic cyber hygiene, implementing cyber resiliency solutions, and performing associated compliance validation/verification

  • May manage small projects or processes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of prior relevant experience related to Systems/Software Engineering architecture, requirements, determination, development, and implementation, Cyber Security Engineering and architecture

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, asonly U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience with operating in a Linux environment. Comfortable navigating a Linux system from command line

  • Experience working with Tenable Nessus, the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and implementation of security controls in a government/DoD environment

  • Experience w/ modern infrastructure concepts such as virtualization, containerization, container orchestration, VLANs, LAN/WAN concepts

  • Experience w/ infrastructure automation tools such as: Ansible, Foreman, Puppet, Chef. Artifactory

  • Must possess Security Certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II (Security+ or equivalent) or able to obtain within 6 months of start

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree in STEM with 4+ years of engineering experience

  • Experience with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide, DoDI 8500

  • Experience with information security toolsets such as Elastic and/or SPLUNK or other related Intrusion Detection Tools

  • Experience in manual hardening and system compliance

  • Experience working on mission critical satellite ground systems

  • Experience in scripting for task automation (i.e. Python, Bash, etc.)

  • Ability to take tasking and work to completion w/ minimal supervision/support

  • Familiarity w/ DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, & Agile development

  • Solid understanding of fundamental security concepts and their application such as: Role based access control, network segmentation, least privilege, application security, audit logging, authenticated client/server communication, configuration management

  • Self-Starter requiring limited direction and supervision

  • Ability to support periodic travel (less than 10%)

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
