Travel Nurse RN

**Job Specialty:** Float Pool ICU CCU
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 12-hour night shift, 3 nights a week
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** One year of experience preferred
**License:** State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact
**Certifications:**
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Required for specific locations only
**Must-Have:**
- Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to the ICU/CCU specialty
- EPIC system proficiency
**Job Description:**
- Assume responsibility and accountability for patient care coordination and collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Promote the optimal health, well-being, and safety of patients through nursing processes and in accordance with care standards and guidelines.
- Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, medical records, and clinical data evaluation.
- Develop and implement patient care plans and observe outcomes in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic interventions including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
- Advocate and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
- Provide educational support for patients and families, assessing readiness and evaluating the effectiveness of educational efforts.
- Deliver relationship-based care with respect for cultural differences and diversity, recognizing the patient or designee as a full partner in care.
- Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel according to regulations and hospital policy.
- Efficiently use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care.
- Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing processes.
- Manage resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies to individualized needs.
- Utilize standards of care, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.
- Work effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams to achieve quality patient care through communication and shared decision-making.
- Precept and mentor new staff or nursing students as needed.
- Pursue learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain skills and clinical competence.
- Maintain professional records to demonstrate competency and lifelong learning.
- Evaluate personal nursing practice against professional standards, statutes, rules, and regulations, setting goals for improvement.
- Participate in hospital and unit-based meetings, emphasizing the importance of quality improvement.
- Use quality measures to improve performance and accountability for patient outcomes and the safe delivery of care.
- Engage in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities to expand clinical knowledge and role performance.
