- Ability to titrate drips
- Experience with common diagnoses such as Pneumonia, CHF, COPD, cellulitis, and COVID
Job Description:
- Department: Medical Surgical
- # Beds: 18
- Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:4, sometimes 1:5, rarely 1:6
- Common Diagnoses: Pneumonia, CHF, COPD, swing bed patients, weakness, cellulitis, COVID, general surgical
- Experience: Positive attitudes only
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Occasionally titrate drips like Heparin, Cardizem
- Charge Nurse responsibilities: Day Charge to take patients and full assignment, house supervisor on nights
- Nurse aids on the unit: Yes, to assist with ADL cares, blood sugars, vital signs, and EKGs
- RT Equipment available: Cpap, Bipap, high flow, and self-rescue
- Shifts & Scheduling: No self-scheduling, but block schedules subject to change
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd with occasional every other
- Holiday Requirement: Every 3rd
- Is there Call or a Standby requirement: Not for travelers
- Floating Requirements: Float to ED at times if needed
- Scrub Color: Any professional color scrubs
- Department specific orientation: 12hr orientation with floor and education RN
- Radius Rule: 50 miles
- Charting System: EPIC
- BSN Required: False
- Trauma Level: CAH
- Care Setting: Acute
Shift Notes:
12-hour Nights, Rotating every third weekend (may be asked to cover additional weekends)
