**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Job Specialty:** Medical-Surgical (Med Surg), Brain Trauma Unit

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; Every Other Weekend Required; Holidays - 3 out of 6 Required

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 hours per week

**Experience:** At least 2 years of acute Med-Surg experience required; 2 years of rehab experience preferred

**License:** NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license

**Certifications:** NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA), Continuing Education Unit (CEU) Contact Stroke 4 Hours

**Must-Have:** Competency in caring for patients with tracheostomy, gastrostomy tubes (GT), cognitive impairments, and those requiring restraints

**Job Description:**
- Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care.
- Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs.
- Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
- Initiate assessment based on patient problems or needs, physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage care of patients.
- Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
- Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
- Provide patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice models.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Float to other rehab and med-surg units as required.
