Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience
License: Active RN license
Certifications: ACLS, BCLS
Must-Have: Medsurg experience, IV Insulin Protocols, Colostomy Care, Feeding tube care management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, PICC line management, Heparin, Insulin administration, PCA management, Ortho Trauma, and surgical drains.
Job Description:
- Responsible for providing medical-surgical care in the Clinical Decisions Unit
- Administer IV medications and handle insulin protocols
- Assist patients with colostomy care and feeding tube management
- Access ports, perform blood product administrations, and manage central line care
- Conduct peripheral line care and phlebotomy procedures
- Manage PICC lines, start IVs, administer Heparin and Insulin, and oversee PCA usage
- Handle ortho trauma cases and surgical drain care
- Hold certifications in ACLS and BCLS
- Self-schedule shifts and adhere to floating and call requirements
- Care for extended recovery surgical patients, pre-surgical patients, and various post-operative cases
- Utilize unit systems for medication, documentation, and communication
- Complete unit orientation and maintain compliance with health and safety protocols
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide quality patient care in a clinical setting.
