**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN)

**Shift:** Night Shift - 6:30 pm to 7:00 am

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 per week

**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years in psychiatric nursing

**License:** Current RN license required

**Certifications:** CPI, BLS

**Must-Have:** Travel experience of at least 1 year

**Job Description:**

- Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care using the nursing process for adult and geriatric patients.
- Provide for the psychosocial needs of patients.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, including body system and pain assessments.
- Incorporate clinical indicators such as lab results, radiology, and vital signs in SBAR hand-off reports.
- Assess the biological, psychological, physical, and cultural needs of patients and families.
- Recognize and provide ongoing assessment for any change in patient condition.
- Collaborate with all disciplines to meet the assessed needs of assigned patients.
- Maintain constant accessibility to the unit and ensure the clinical supervisor is always aware of your location.
- Participate in unit-based problem-solving and attend a minimum of 75% of staff meetings.
- Oversee direct reports within their scope of practice and assist with problem-solving.
- Communicate autonomously with physicians and physician assistants while contributing to a healthy work environment.
- Monitor, recognize, and report abnormal test results and provide health education to patients and families.
- Serve as a patient advocate, adhering to applicable laws and patient rights.
- Evaluate patient views on healthcare and document compliance or lack of willingness to make lifestyle changes.
- Implement individual interventions from the plan of care and identify possibilities for post-hospital care.
- Perform relief charge role when necessary after orientation.
- Develop and evaluate care plans based on assessed needs, ensuring the workplace is ready for activities.
- Audit documentation for accuracy and serve as a resource for others, including precepting students and new hires.
- Demonstrate appropriate clinical skills and use special equipment such as monitors and infusion pumps.
- Exhibit sound time management skills to prioritize patient care and effectively minimize the burden on the next shift.

**Education:** Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required. BSN is highly desired.

**Language:** Proficient in English (Read, Write, Speak)
