Job Description

Job Summary: Responsible for assisting in the fabrication of various components and/or whole parts to support the production and manufacturing of specialized water treatment equipment and associated systems. This position requires forklift operation, scissor lifts, drill presses, belt sanders, band saws, bench grinders and ironworkers usage in an industrial setting.

Key Characteristics:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Fabrication Technician to support the production and manufacturing of specialized water treatment equipment out of our Norfolk, VA facility. The ideal candidate will assist in fabricating various components and whole parts while operating a range of equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts, drill presses, belt sanders and more while working as part of a team.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Assists in fabricating and manufacturing various components of specialized equipment used in industrial water treatment applications
• Proper and safe use of drill presses, belt sanders, band saws, bench grinders, ironworkers, and other specialized equipment to fabricate parts and water treatment systems.
• Pipe-fit various materials such as PVC, CPVC, fiberglass, and stainless steel
• Practice good safety procedures in order to keep self and others injury free
• Follow good housekeeping practices by keeping fabrication and tool storage area neat and clean as well as timely clean-up of work area after each job is completed
• Perform confined space entry in small tanks with 14x18" manways
• Travel for field repair and install if needed
• Maintain records and reports as required

Qualifications

Education & Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in fabrication and manufacturing, preferably in the water treatment or related industry.
• Proficiency in operating a variety of fabrication tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of pipe fitting techniques and materials used in water treatment systems.
• Strong commitment to safety and following established procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel for field assignments is a benefit.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Additional Information
• Some travel may be required.
• Able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
• Requires work with power tools and around other potentially hazardous equipment
