SUNY Downstate and Kings County Hospital Center Otolaryngology Faculty Position

This position represents an exciting opportunity for leadership at our clinical sites. With a full-time academic appointment at the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, the candidate we are looking for will be actively involved in resident training, medical student teaching, clinical research and community outreach.
The clinical effort will be structured between University Hospital Downstate and New York City Health and Hospitals/Kings County Hospital Center(KCHC) our main teaching hospitals which are the center of a large clinical campus served by our full-time faculty.
The clinical effort will be focused at Kings County Hospital Center, with responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations of the otolaryngology service including the inpatient, consultation and otolaryngology clinic service. Seven faculty in the Downstate Otolaryngology Department make up the team that also provides coverage at KCHC—representing a strong multi-specialty service. Surgical navigators, a nurse practitioner and ancillary services including a speech language pathology service support patient access and care.
With a high patient volume and long history of providing care in Brooklyn NY and the surrounding New York City boroughs, Kings County Hospital - a Level I trauma center - is one of the busiest sites of the Downstate academic training program. The surgeon in this role will care for the broad range of otolaryngic disease with opportunities to do head and neck surgery. Clinical care at University Hospital Downstate will allow for flexibility to focus in a number of areas within general otolaryngology.
