**Job Title:** Scheduling Coordinator

**Must-Have:**
- Two years of related experience.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt in a changing environment.

**Job Description:**

- Coordinate all aspects of tests, procedures, and surgeries under the supervision of the Practice Supervisor or Manager and physicians efficiently.
- Schedule procedures promptly, politely, and helpfully.
- Adhere to facility guidelines, including any required booking sheets.
- Ensure the proper equipment is ordered for surgery.
- Verify patient demographics.
- Log patient and insurance information, contact insurance companies for verification of coverage and benefits, and obtain precertification from payers.
- Coordinate procedure appointments with physicians' calendars and adjust schedules as needed.
- Communicate appointments and surgical preparation information to patients.
- Arrange for co-surgeons or assistants as needed and handle cross-scheduling with other departments.
- Ensure pre-op procedures are consistently followed, including completion of surgical documentation (consent forms, history and physical, physician orders).
- Distribute documentation to appropriate departments.
- Schedule pre-surgery appointments with physicians, obtain medical clearance(s), coordinate pre-admission testing appointments, and follow up with results to the physician.
- Maintain block time guidelines at each hospital.
- Coordinate required postoperative care under the direction of the provider.
- Obtain surgical billing information from physicians and work with the coding department to obtain appropriate codes and reconcile all surgical charges.
- Track all procedures, including completed and pending cases, as well as surgical testing and pathology results.
- Provide excellent customer service, greet patients and visitors courteously, respond promptly to needs, and listen with empathy.
- Display cooperative interactions with others and accept responsibility for tasks.
- Adapt work schedule to meet practice needs and work additional hours as requested to maintain adequate practice coverage.
- Manage time efficiently to prevent unapproved additional hours worked.
- Perform assignments with efficiency and accuracy positively.
- May be required to provide cross-coverage within the Physician Services Division.
- Participate in surgical service meetings at hospitals.
- Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
