Job Description:
Summary: The Surgical Technologist - Non Certified assists surgical team members during operative procedures. Arranges and inventories sterile set-ups for surgery, passes items as needed to the operating team, and assists in preparing and moving patients, and cleaning the operating room. This is considered an entry-level position.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Operating Room Preparation Duties:
- Prepares surgical suite, supplies, and equipment to meet safety and infection control standards.
- Regularly checks equipment and supplies for proper working order.
- Patient Pre-Operative Duties:
- Performs responsibilities as a surgical scrub for preoperative care for patients.
- Assists with surgical procedures, prepares specimens for analysis.
- Safety and Infection Control Duties:
- Adheres to established safety and aseptic techniques.
- Actively participates in the time-out process for safety checks.
- Other Duties:
- Participates in quality and safety activities.
- Provides new employee orientations and training courses.

Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED, Graduate of an approved course for OR Surgical Technologists.
- Experience: Minimum one year related experience in a clinical setting.
- Licensure and Certification: BLS required, CST preferred.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, write reports, and speak effectively.
- Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical abilities.
- Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
- Healthcare Business Acumen: Knowledge of healthcare business aspects.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of Internet, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software.

**Ophthalmology skills are required.
