**Certifications:** ACLS, BCLS, PALS, and NIH required

**Must-Have:** Conscious Sedation experience preferred; Charge Nurse experience preferred; Epic charting experience preferred; Float pool experience preferred

**Job Description:**

- Work in a mixed unit Med-Surg/Tele environment
- Function in a small community hospital with ER MD only at night
- Manage an average daily census of 22-24 beds
- Provide care for a diverse patient age group, including adults, geriatrics, adolescents, and pediatrics as young as less than one year old
- Deliver care with staffing ratios of 1:5 for days, and 1:6 for nights and weekends
- Float required within service line and to other units within scope of practice
- Work every other weekend and occasionally engage in preoperative care
- Utilize medication system Pyxis and Epic for charting
- Handle patient diagnoses related to general medical and surgical care, post-operative care (including orthopedic, pulmonary, and general surgical cases)
- May involve cardiac monitoring, managing dysrhythmias, utilizing remote telemetry monitoring, and responding to emergency situations
- Administer and manage IV therapies, including blood product administration, central line and peripheral line care/management, and starting IVs
- Conduct specialized procedures and unit details, such as chest tubes, bedside procedures, moderate sedation, and fall alarm management
- Engage in respiratory and thoracic care, including management of chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and use of high flow nasal cannula
- Implement isolation precautions and wound care/wound vacuum
- Use special equipment, such as SAO2 and End tidal CO2 monitors
- Candidates are required to float to other units or facilities as part of the position
- Applicants must complete a basic Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam with two chances to pass
- Modules are part of orientation and annual requirements, varying by specialty
