**Job Title:** Radiologic Technologist

**Shift:** Night - 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM (5x8 Hr shifts)

**Guaranteed Hours:** 40.00 per week

**License:** IEMA Radiography License

**Certifications:**
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- Radiography (R) (ARRT)

**Must-Have:**
- Positive attitude
- Ability to perform multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow and various technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative

**Job Description:**

- Perform diagnostic general radiological procedures using various imaging equipment to assist in diagnosing disease and injuries.
- Acquire and process patient exams in accordance with accrediting bodies or manufacturer guidelines and department protocols.
- Review cases with the radiologist when appropriate.
- Review labs and patient history to conduct the correct exam.
- Administer IV, oral, and rectal contrast as appropriate.
- Recognize and respond to any adverse or allergic reactions.
- Administer IV contrast material through an existing IV line or by performing venipuncture.
- Screen patients for pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable.
- Review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy.
- Review patient history and supporting clinical data for medical necessity.
- Acquire additional information if needed from the patient, provider, or radiologist.
- Demonstrate acceptable imaging quality standards by assessing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
- Review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
- Transfer and verify image data in PACS and provide necessary medical history and information for radiologist interpretation.
- Utilize web servers and email systems to send exams for preliminary readings after hours.
- Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including supply inventories and work area orderliness.
- Report equipment malfunctions and service needs promptly.
- Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety.
- Report safety events immediately, including near misses.
- Assist in the instruction of students and new staff as necessary.
- May perform duties of Lead Technologist or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
- Meet productivity levels as established by department benchmarks.
- Assist other areas during downtime to maintain productivity.
- May perform duties of other modalities with appropriate licensure, as required by compliance, licensure, or accrediting bodies.
- Comply with job descriptions of cross-trained modalities within the department.
