**Job Title:** Mammography Technologist

**Job Specialty:** Imaging

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks

**Shift:** Day (Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, includes 2 major and 2 minor holidays)

**Guaranteed Hours:**

**Experience:** Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist and 1 year in Mammography preferred

**License:** ARRT Radiography

**Certifications:** ARRT Mammography, Basic Life Support (BLS)

**Must-Have:**
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to function independently and under pressure
- Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking
- Competence in all aspects of Mammography, patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection
- Understanding of anatomy and pathology

**Job Description:**

- Obtain complete clinical histories and assess for contraindications.
- Ensure proper patient identification and use of right and left markers.
- Review radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and release patients.
- Respond to emergency situations using critical thinking.
- Assist other technologists across modalities as needed.
- Use two unique patient identifiers as per policy before performing procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients clearly to minimize anxiety using the Acknowledge, Introduce, Discuss, Explain, and Thank methodology for all patients and family members.
- Organize schedule and priority activities to accomplish required tasks within designated timeframes.
- Adjust equipment techniques to ensure the best study quality while maintaining image integrity.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to supervisors promptly.
- Clean and maintain equipment following infection control policies.
- Produce acceptable images with a first-time acceptance rate of 95 percent.
- Ensure equipment is operational before each use by checking for proper calibration.
- Complete and document required ACR/MQSA quality control tests.
- Restock linens and supplies, maintaining a clean and orderly department.
- Assist patients on and off procedure tables and position them correctly.
- Apply shielding and prepare/maintain patient follow-up data.
- Comply with all hospital policies, standards of work, and codes of conduct.
