The Process Engineer II is responsible for applying principles, knowledge, and practices of process engineering for timely identification, analysis, and resolution of process-related issues to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-efficient plant operations. Utilize current and new industry developments to improve plant performance and reliability, which includes initiating and developing plant improvement modifications/projects. Â

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Â

⢠Develop and implement appropriate plant/process monitoring and optimization systems and Â

perform Equipment Performance Evaluations. Â

⢠Provide process engineering assistance/support to the Operations Team as required. Â

⢠Provide evaluations on assigned and self-initiated tasks (identifying, analyzing, and recommending Â

actions to address abnormal and less efficient plant parameters). Â

⢠Participate in incident investigation teams for troubleshooting and determining the root cause Â

of plant issues/problems. Â

⢠Assist in the review of changes to the plant "cause and effect matrix" to improve plant reliability Â

and protect plant assets. Â

⢠Support in the development of plant modifications for projects within all degrees of complexity. Â

⢠Understand and comply with the Management of Change (MOC) process. Â

⢠Participate in âWhat Ifs' and HAZOP studies. Â

⢠Be up to date with and apply state-of-the-art developments/technologies applicable to the Â

methanol industry, as required. Â

⢠Provide necessary process engineering support to guide the timing of plant shutdowns and Â

turnarounds. Â

⢠Provide process engineering support on plant shutdown and turnaround activities - planning Â

and execution phases. Â

⢠Work with contractors and outside vendors/suppliers to develop project concepts, quoting, Â

developing the scope of work, and cost justifications for projects. Â

⢠Provide process engineering support in the development and review of Standard Operating Â

Procedures (SOPs). Â

⢠Live up to the key values of the Organization and act accordingly during the whole life cycle of our Â

⢠Perform compliance audits, as required, and take appropriate action to correct noncompliance and reinforce positive behaviors. Â

⢠Provide process engineering support to the Operations Team in the development of Â

guidelines to ensure the plant and equipment are operated in a manner that poses no threat Â

to the environment. Â

⢠Provide technical support to the Operations Team in the management of the containment Â

and clean-up of spills, ensuring proper handling and disposal of hazardous substances. Â

⢠Ensure and improve effective Incident Management Response. Â

⢠Ensure all incidents are promptly reported, participate in investigations as necessary, and Â

complete assigned tasks within the stipulated time. Â

⢠Ensure and improve effective Asset Management. Â

⢠Provide process engineering support to the Operations Team in the development and Â

routine review of guidelines and procedures to ensure Plant and equipment are operated Â

within design limits. Â

⢠Provide process engineering support to assess abnormal Plant conditions and develop Â

guidelines to mitigate and manage these conditions. Â

⢠Support full compliance to HSSE-related legislation & regulations, corporate requirements, and management system(s) (i.e., operating policies and procedures). Â

⢠Assist other Departments and other administrative personnel as necessary. Â

⢠Perform other tasks as assigned. Â

QUALIFICATIONS Â

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS Â

⢠None required. Â

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR TRAINING Â

⢠Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering required. Â

⢠Three (3) - Five (5) years of experience in Process Engineering required. Â

PREFERRED: Â

⢠Operating plant experience as a process engineer. Â

⢠Experience working in syn gas/petrochemical/methanol/ ammonia plants. Â

⢠High pressure steam system header & energy management knowledge. Â

⢠Understanding of process controls & advanced controls initiative- APC etc. Â

⢠Exposure to process simulation. Â

technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design Â

⢠Ability to sit for prolonged amounts of time required. Â

⢠Ability to effectively communicate through various means required. Â

ENVIRONMENTAL Â

⢠The majority of work is performed within an office environment, including office equipment - such Â

as computers, telephones, and copiers. Â

⢠Requires passing by industrial equipment on way to the office. Â

⢠Noise levels are typically moderate. Â

⢠May require exposure to the field. Â

WORK SCHEDULE Â

⢠Regular 40-hour work week, normal duty hours as assigned. Â
