Position: Cytotechnologist

Job Description:
  • Maintains daily record of slides screened/hours worked at laboratory and slides screened/hours worked at any other outside employer per procedure manual.
  • Maintains open communication with department supervisor, pathologist, and co-workers to ensure optimal operation of the department.
  • Provides technical consultation for Cyto-processing technicians, assists in prep work when directed by Supervisor.
  • Maintains high level of proficiency and current knowledge through continuing education.
  • Complies with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
  • Supports corporate policies and objectives, complies with quality assurance, safety, and environmental and infection control protocols.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of recent Cyto Tech experience required
  • Cerner or EPIC experience preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • At least one (1) of the following is: Required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in cytotechnology, plus graduation from a school of cytotechnology accredited school.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a biological science, plus graduation from a school of cytotechnology accredited school.
American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Certification Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism when interacting with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff members.
