**Job Title:** Registered Nurse

**Shift:** 12-hour night shift, 1800-0630

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 per week

**Experience:** Minimum of one year preferred; nursing skills and knowledge specific to specialty

**License:** State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the NLC

**Certifications:**
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) Certification/or Association of Women's Health, Obstetrics, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Certification

**Must-Have:**
- Fetal monitoring
- NRP
- ACLS

**Job Description:**
- Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records, and clinical data.
- Evaluate patient responses and intervene to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement patient care plans and observe outcomes in alignment with nursing standards, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate competency in various therapeutic/diagnostic interventions, including IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
- Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
- Provide patient and family education by assessing learning readiness, needs, and capabilities; evaluate the effectiveness of education provided.
- Recognize the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient's preferences, values, and needs.
- Offer relationship-based care to understand what's most important to the individual and engage them actively in all care aspects, respecting cultural differences and human diversity.
- Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel following State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.
- Utilize time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to deliver high-quality, cost-efficient patient care.
- Be a professional role model for staff, demonstrating the ethical, legal, and professional nursing process.
- Manage resources and patient flow seamlessly, matching nursing competencies with individualized patient and unit needs.
- Follow standards of care, hospital procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.
- Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to deliver quality patient care.
- Precept/mentor new staff or nursing students as necessary.
- Pursue learning opportunities and continuing education, seeking experiences that reflect current practice to maintain skills and competence in clinical practice or role performance.
- Maintain professional records that demonstrate competency and lifelong learning.
- Assess personal integrity and nursing practice against professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations, and take action to achieve goals identified during the evaluation process.
- Show commitment to the organization by participating in hospital and unit-based meetings.
- Verbalize understanding of the value of measurement and the importance of continuous quality improvement data.
- Use quality measures to enhance performance and accountability for patient outcomes, patient experiences, and safe care delivery.
- Engage in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities.
- Use current healthcare research findings and other evidence to expand clinical knowledge, enhance role performance, and increase awareness of professional issues.
