Job Summary

The Medical Education Specialist assists with multiple projects in Graduate Medical Education and Continuing Medical Education, working with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver on planned medical education objectives that support Medical Education within the Health System.

Job Responsibilities

Implement and execute medical education programming. Maintain knowledge of ACGME accreditation site requirements.

Advise internal and external stakeholders of departmental policies and procedures. Coordinates Housestaff Orientation and other GME events.

Provide support to Committees as necessary. Assist with preparing Minutes and Agenda.

Serve as a liaison with other departments and affiliated institutions. Prepares operational and statistical reports and surveys.

Other duties as assigned.

Process CME (Continuing Medical Education) activity applications and manage required documentation

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop CME activities and attend on-site conferences as needed. Maintain annual CME records.

Develop promotional materials, including web based promotion Maintain knowledge of ACCME accreditation requirements.

Assist in overseeing Graduate Medical Education processes for the Grady Health System. Maintain and update accurate resident and fellow credentialing records.

Timely process all Graduate Medical Education agreements.

Education

Required:

Bachelor's Degree

Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration

Experience

Required:

Three (3) or more years job related experience including Graduate Medical Education or Continuing Medical Education coordination/administration
