This position will work within the Miracles In Progress program. Miracles in Progress provides services for chronically homeless men with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues. The program is open-ended, targeting men who have lived on the streets or in Philadelphia shelters for at least five years. Implemented on the recovery management model, the program focuses on issues identified by the participants as important in achieving and maintaining long-term recovery. Community reintegration is an integral part of the programming. As such, participants are encouraged to participate in local social, cultural, and spiritual activities. Staff members partner in the recovery journey to foster accountability and integrity and create life-long transformations.

Summary and Qualifications:

The Behavioral Specialist supports the clients in the areas of admissions, benefits, financial affairs, vocational training, housing, legal affairs, community support, and resources.

Meets with clients to conduct the initial interview

Provide 1:1 support and counseling

Complete periodic progress reports for clients and submit them to legal entities as needed.

Act as a part of the multidisciplinary team

Advocate for clients

Qualifications:
  • MA degree from an accredited program in an area of human services or social work, political science, criminal justice, education or another related field is required.
  • Three years of combined experience in mental health, drug and alcohol, and criminal justice.
