FLSA Status: Part-time
General Position Summary:
Part-time position (18 hours/week) responsible for the coordination and support of Saint Matthew Catholic Church outreach programs such as the Golden Seniors, the Refugee Ministry, and any other Outreach Ministry as assigned by the Pastor.
Principal Accountabilities:
* Coordinates group outreach activities - including coordinating activities for the Golden Seniors activities on and off the property.
* Coordinate Refugee Program, including leading and directing participants in their ministry; planning and facilitating the meetings; working with Parish Operations Director to provide spiritual guidance, direction, and continuing education to participants.
* Coordinate the Golden Seniors Ministry, including leading and directing the program; running meetings as needed, providing continuing education & meeting with new volunteers. Recruit and train new volunteers.
* Work with Stewardship Committee in volunteer recruitment efforts, including support of annual Ministry Fair and coordinate qualified bus drivers to meet the needs of transporting senior to and from activities on and off the parish property.
* Serve as liaison for Saint Matthew Catholic Church in other ministries such as Hospitality Ministry.
Typical working Conditions:
Person in this position will work in an inside office environment and church; would work alone at times and frequently with large groups often requiring multitasking and working with deadlines and details; normal hours would be 18 per week, Monday through Friday. Flexible hours. Evening and weekend hours required as needed.
Nature of Supervision Received:
* Receives minimal supervision. Incumbent must establish priorities and independently set daily objectives to meet deadlines and address urgent situations as they occur.
Judgment Exercised/Decisions Made:
* Considerable judgment and independent decisions making is required. Decisions are moderately complex. Requires ability to thoroughly investigate, analyze, create, and recommend the proper course of action. Judgment and tact must be used frequently.
Financial Responsibility:
* Responsible for effective use of budgeted resources.
Requirements
Education and Experience Preferred:
* Catholic in Good Standing; if married, in a union recognized as valid by the Church; a solid knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the Catholic Church and its teachings and culture.
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
* Skills in group dynamics and individual interaction
* Organizational Skills
* Microsoft Office tools
