Description

Anderson University School of Nursing invites applications for one full-time faculty Assistant Professor position that includes simulation, lab, didactic, and clinical work. The non-tenure track appointment will be for 9 months and begin in August, 2024. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

These requirements are a representation of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as an exhaustive list of specific duties and responsibilities. Employee may be asked to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
  • Designs and evaluates clinical simulation curriculum to ensure that expected competencies are being taught to students. Evaluates outcomes assessments.
  • Ensures that instruction is consistent with national professional standards to assure skill and knowledge competencies of graduates.
  • Develops and enforces policies and procedures to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient use of the lab space, equipment, and supplies.
  • Plans for replacement of existing equipment and purchase of new technology.
  • Manages the lab budget, costs, and revenues.
  • Seeks grant funding to support innovative simulation programs.
  • Maintains a working relationship with RQI.
  • Participates in committee work.
  • Advises nursing students.
  • Prepares and delivers didactic nursing concepts.
  • Facilitates and manages clinical activities.

Qualifications

  • Masters in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current Indiana RN License.
  • Minimum of 3 years nursing practice with a broad knowledge base.
  • Experience with simulation based education.
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator or willing to obtain within one year of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate patient simulation scenarios.
  • Current with simulation education research and practice.
  • Familiarity with use and maintenance of simulation equipment.
  • Collaborative approach to working with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to handle all situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to articulate skills to represent simulation resources internally and to external constituencies.
  • Commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Possess a vitality of Christian experience that is maturing in insight and application.

The successful candidate will be committed to an autonomous practice of nursing along with integration of liberal arts education, global perspectives, servanthood, and community partnerships. Candidates should have belief in and commitment to Jesus Christ and the Christian faith as interpreted through the historic witness of the Bible and the ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit.
