**_Position Purpose:_**

Medical Records Clerk performs administrative functions for the homecare agency in a manner that ensures medical record integrity. Primary responsibilities include accurately filing patient documents and archiving documents. In addition, the position provides assistance to the Business Manager related to special projects, audits and monthly reports. The position offers assistance to other departments as needed.

**_What You Will Do:_**

+ Maintains a 98% level of filing accuracy.

+ Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health Organization Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

+ Ensures clinical records filing is completed timely and that records are organized in appropriate component order and professionally maintained (labeled, assembled, stored, categorized).

+ Completes and submits audits and audit results in a timely manner.

+ Responds to staff requests for charts in a timely manner.

+ Maintains security of records, releasing records to outside parties only upon the expressed consent of the Business/Facilities Manager.

**_Minimum Qualifications:_**

+ High School diploma or GED.

+ Six months of clerical experience in a medical setting or other automated work environment.

+ Working knowledge of standard office equipment.

+ Ability to maintain high level of alphabetical filing accuracy.

+ Ability to meet strict deadlines with high level of accuracy, ability to prioritize multiple tasks in highly automated settings and possesses strong interpersonal skills.

+ Ability to consistently demonstrate commitment to the mission and Organizational Code of Ethics and adhere to the Compliance Program.
