The Regulatory Engineer will support the Compliance Manager in compliance certification processes and, if necessary, problem resolution between safety agencies and company. Represent company's interests by participation in Standards Development Committees and inform appropriate internal organizations of latest regulatory requirements. The Candidate will work on New Product Development as well as maintenance projects to ensure compliance with global standards and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Review and approve product documentation, technical file, procedures, work instructions and templates related to Regulatory activities.
* Represent and support regulatory matters towards applicable test houses, competent authorities, notified bodies and standardization committees.
* Facilitate resolution of variation notices at suppliers' factories.
* Monitor, and continuously improve product compliance process to ensure all product submittals are completed on a timely basis.
* Provide compliance process and project requirement training for Program Managers, Brand Marketing, Product Development Engineers and Validation Engineers.
* Support staff through interpretation of standards.
* Maintain regulatory conformity, certifications and approvals for assigned product categories.
* Forecast and track agency fees and drive cost reductions.
* Support Validation Engineering project tasks as assigned.
* Ongoing investigation of latest component technology to meet goals of improved quality at less cost, and reduced time to compliance.
* Recognize and resolve product and engineering design issues by identifying short-term and long-term effects.
* Prevent non-compliances by collaborating with cross functional teams, reviewing design data, and developing compliance policies.
* Conduct labeling reviews (instruction booklets, rating labels, etc.) against established Home Appliances regulatory requirements. Provide feedback to cross-functional team to ensure compliance is met.
* Interface with vendors and cross-functional team members to gather necessary documents to ensure HA products are assessed in a timely manner to support development roadmaps.

EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant fields (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering) is preferred.
* 3-5 years of experience working with safety agencies such as UL, Intertek, CSA, TUV, NOM, FDA etc.
* Experience with design or process engineering background in addition to compliance experience is preferred
* Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
