Our medical department is dedicated to helping our clients improve their lives through a coordinated approach to care involving clients, their caregivers, their clinical staff, and primary care providers. What You'll Do
  • Perform psychiatric assessments; prescribe and monitor the use and prescription of psycho-tropic medications & monitor the physical health of clients who are using psycho-tropic medications
  • Chart medications and maintain accurate and timely documentation for medical records, working within Organization policy and procedure and quality assurance standards
  • Maintain level of direct service and utilization of time to meet clinical need and financial goals for the support of the position and consults with the Continuum Directors and Chief Executive Officer regarding program planning, design, and function
  • Be a part of a collaborative team of medical professionals in a work environment that can sometimes be stressful and that sees a variety of groups of people

  • Full-Time, Exempt
  • Position is eligible for up to $25,000 Signing Bonus based on length of commitment
  • AKBH offers generous benefits including two healthcare options for employees and their dependent children, 401k with immediate vesting and up to 5% match, 3% automatically contributed by AKBH, and 3 weeks of PTO for the first year, and 6 weeks of PTO after the first year, as well as 10 paid holidays.

What We Need from You
  • You have a medical degree from an accredited medical school and are Board-certified or Board-eligible by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • You have a Current Alaska Medical License and Current DEA certificate
  • You are experienced in community psychiatry and/or with chronic mental illness
