Summary of the Position: SAP Mental Health Liaison provides consultation to school district core teams, risk assessments for students who have been identified by the core teams and for who the core teams have obtained parental permission, and referral assistance for students in need of treatment services.

* The following is a list of anticipated services to be provided to school districts; attending SAP core team meetings, site visits for consultation, attending activities of the team, supporting school-based aftercare plans for students returning from treatment, facilitating, or assisting with postvention efforts in the event of a tragic incident, providing training to school district personnel, students and families and participating in interventions with students and family members.
* All SAP services will be delivered by individuals who have received training in Student Assistance provided by a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania approved SAP training vendor. Services will be available to each core team by the opening day of classes in all six school districts.
* The Liaison agrees to adhere to the "Minimum Guidelines for Liaison Services from the County/Joinder" established September 5, 1997, by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
* The target population for these services in Student Assistance Program core teams and the students served by them in Mifflin County School District, Juniata County School District, Huntingdon Area School District, Mount Union Area School District, Southern Huntingdon County School District, and Juniata Valley School District. This does not need to be authorized by the Base Service Unit.

Mental Health Liaison provides services to high schools during normal school hours throughout the school year as defined by each school district and may, under certain circumstances, assist the staff, students, and families of elementary schools.

Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required with a focus in the Human Services Field

* At least 1 year of experience working with youth is preferred.
* Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Must be professional, flexible, and able to work independently.

Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage.
